Leveling Materials
Every Genshin Impact character uses the same amount of EXP to reach level 90: 8,362,650. Between each ascension level, this is how much they’ll need:

Chongyun Ascension Items
Shivada Jade is the elemental gem Chongyun uses in his ascension, since he’s a Cryo character. He’ll also use some Hilichurl drops, a boss drop from the Cryo Regisvine, some Cor Lapis, and a small fortune in Mora.
Gemstones - Where to Find Shivada Jade
This elemental stone, used by Cryo characters, can be found in the same ways as the other elemental stones: souvenir shops, the Parametric Transformer, daily commission rewards, and by defeating bosses. The following bosses can drop Shivada Jade:

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Damaged Mask, Stained Mask, Ominous Mask
There is no shortage of Hilichurls around Teyvat, so it shouldn’t be too hard to collect their materials for Chongyun’s ascension. However, they’ll need to be certain levels for certain drops.
Any level Hilichurl can drop Damaged Masks Hilichurls that are level 40 or higher can drop Stained Masks Hilichurls level 60 and up can drop Ominous Masks
When it comes to these materials, it’s not just standard Hilichurls that can drop them. Lawachurls, Mitachurls, and Samachurls can all drop these Masks, too.
Boss Drop - How to Get Hoarfrost Core
Chongyun’s boss material is the Hoarfrost Core. These icy materials can be found by defeating the Cryo Regisvine, which is found in the northern portion of Mondstadt, on the Falcon Coast.
It’s important to note that the Cryo Regisvine has a strong resistance to Cryo damage, meaning Chongyun might not be the best character to fight it with.
Local Specialty - Where to Find Cor Lapis
Chongyun joins Keqing and Zhongli in using Cor Lapis for his ascension. This mineral can be found dotted around Liyue, especially on Mt. Hulao, around Luhua Pool, in the surface area of the Chasm, and on Cuijue Slope.
Anyone having trouble farming Cor Lapis in the wild can also head to Liyue Harbor and speak with Changshung, who runs a store just to the left of the Liyue souvenir shop. She sells five Cor Lapis for 7,500 Mora each. She’ll restock them every three days.
Chongyun Talent Materials
Chongyun’s profession requires diligence, so it’s fitting that the Diligence talent series is the one he uses to upgrade his talents. Aside from those, he’ll also need more Hilichurl Masks, a Dvalin drop, and more.
Talent Books - Diligence
The Diligence series is used by several characters, including Chongyun. These books can be obtained from the Taishan Mansion domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Trounce Materials - Dvalin’s Sigh
Defeating Stormterror is a must for anyone who wants to level up Chongyun’s talents. One of Dvalin’s drops, Dvalin’s Sigh, is obtained in this way. Chongyun is one of a few characters that uses this material in his talent upgrades.
Crowns of Insight
By making offerings to the Frostbearing Tree on Dragonspine or the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma, the Traveler can earn Crowns of Insight. Every character needs these to max a talent out. Some of them can also be obtained from time to time by participating in special events.
