Bale’s most recent blockbusters include Thor: Love and Thunder from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in addition to his involvement in the Terminator franchise and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Still, Bale admitted that he is a big fan of the Star Wars franchise and would like to be a part of it. Although, from the horse’s mouth, it appears he wanted to be part of it for comedic reasons above all else.

Bale admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted to be a stormtrooper who hit his head much like the one did during the original trilogy. “All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through. The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it.” Bale then admitted that he would love to be involved in the franchise no matter what. “If I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I did Empire of the Sun, and now, she runs the Star Wars universe.”
Bale has been around actors who have participated in the Star Wars franchise in the past. He just shared the screen with Natalie Portman, who played Padme Amidala from 1999 to 2005, in Thor: Love and Thunder. Bale also acted alongside Liam Neeson, who played Qui Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace in 1999, in Batman Begins, so if Star Wars felt those two were good enough to add to the franchise’s lore, then surely they would feel the same way about an actor like Bale, who’s one of the most committed method actors that Hollywood has ever seen.
At the same time, hiring someone with the pedigree of Bale would be bringing in an already well-established name to a franchise that usually took actors and made them established names. Actors like Portman, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Adam Driver, among others, got their biggest break through the Star Wars franchise, as they would become stars following their roles in the franchise. There’s nothing wrong with adding someone like Bale, who would put his heart and soul into his performance, it’s just not like them to do something like that. Of course they have done that in past with actors like Neeson and Samuel L Jackson.
If they were to cast him, they may put him in a role similar to the one they put Daniel Craig in when he made a cameo as a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. Doing so made it so that the fans didn’t even know that such a big-time actor was doing such a small role, but that made it even funnier when they realized who he played. Since Bale wanted to be in Star Wars for the laughs, who’s to say that couldn’t be in the cards in the near future?
